Fountain Office

The Fountain office of Borema-Hamm is right on Main Street in Fountain. We’re proud to have been in the center of our small little town since 1971. If you stop by, or call, the Fountain office, you’ll likely be talking to Lorie or Jan. Tony, Bruce and Dave all work out the office as well, but they’re often out of the office on sales calls.

Hello, my name is Lorie. I started at the agency in 1986 when it was Borema-Blohm and hope to continue working many more years for Borema-Hamm. I grew up in the Free Soil-Fountain area and have lived in the Village of Fountain for the last 24 years with my husband Rich. We have two grown children Rochelle and Charley. Hi! I’m Jan. I have enjoyed working for Borema Blohm since 2002. I started in the Irons office, then in 2004 I moved to the Fountain office. I am now enjoying working for Borema-Hamm. When I’m not at work, I enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, and cross country skiing with my partner, Leo, and our dog, Sugar. At least once a week, some weeks more, Leo and I like to go dancing. I also spend alot of time in my flower gardens in the summer, and I do some roller skating in the winter. To round off my weeks, I enjoy playing my bass guitar and singing in a music group at my church. I look forward to helping you with your insurance needs! Tony Hamm is known up and down Lake Michigan as “Hammbone” (the name of his boat) and is an avid sport fisherman, competing in many salmon fishing tournaments over the course of the fishing season. He also enjoys snowmobiling and has recently taken up mountain biking. Tony has been an insurance agent since 1984. He moved to Ludington in 1992. His past includes 26 years involved in coaching high school wrestling, first at Reeths Puffer and then 13 years with the Ludington wrestling team. Tony is happily married to his wife Kim and has four adult children. Tony is on the church council at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington and is a member of The Life Underwriting Council Fellowship (L.U.T.C.F.) Bruce has been involved in the agency for 39 years, and is very involved in the community, he is a board member on the Mason county rural fire authority, president of the Fountain Chamber of Commerce, Quartermaster of the VFW. Bruce enjoys music and is currently a member of the Cats & Jammers band as a banjo player. Bruce is also an avid motorcycle enthuisist, winter pool league player and for exercise enjoys bicycling both road & offroad. In 2007 Dann and Julie Van Dyke moved up to the Custer area from Grand Rapids to live in their cottage on a small quiet lake south of Scottville. Dann took a job as an Engineering Manager at a local company in Ludington while Julie became President and CEO of the Mason County Growth Alliance. After two years during the economic downturn, Dann lost his local engineering position and was forced to do something completely different due to the lack of engineering positions in this area. So in the spring of 2008, Dann started his own company called Cottage Works, LLC.
During this time, Dann became friends with his insurance agent, Tony Hamm and began fishing tournaments aboard “Hammbone.” Since then Tony hasn’t been able to kick Dann off his boat and now Dann has become a part of the Borema-Hamm Insurance Agency team. Dann became a certified insurance agent in August of 2010 and now sells insurance while still handling his Cottage Works business. Dann and Julie have two girls, Emily and Grace who are students of Mason County Central. Keeping the kids active in outdoor activities such as fishing, downhill skiing, hunting and softball takes up a lot of their personal family time.
Both Dann and Julie have enjoyed the more relaxed pace of up north compared to their prior lifestyle downstate. They are also members of Mason County Reformed Church and are active with the Ludington & Scottville Chamber of Commerce. Since moving “up north” both have enjoyed the increased quality of life.
